This weekend's Gospel emphasizes the high cost of discipleship - that followers must prioritise Jesus above all other relationships and possessions, even their own lives and family. Through the parables of building a tower and waging war, Jesus illustrates that commitment to him requires a radical willingness to "count the cost" and fully invest in the journey. The Gospel passage concludes with the metaphor of salt losing its taste, warning that true disciples are valuable, while those who abandon their commitment become useless and are discarded.

Congratulations
Congratulations to Lonie and Amarnath who were married on Friday. Bishop Keerithi, vicar of St Peter's Murrumbeena, joined me in celebrating this joyful wedding. The bridal party used vintage vehicles on a sunny but cool day. Amarnath used to be a verger at St Paul's Cathedral.
