St Andrew's Tennis Club

The St Andrew's Tennis Club was founded in 1911 and the three courts are located in St Andrew's Street, flanked by St Andrew's Church buildings and neighbouring Brighton Grammar School.

In 2005 the courts were converted to policlay surface, a synthetic matting topped with ceramic sand. Policlay plays like en-tous-cas, however it is low maintenance and requires no watering. All three courts have lights.

Coaching programmes cater to most age groups and enquiries can be directed to coach Gerard Douglas, Club Coach and Centre Manager, on 0425 755 005.

Night tennis is popular and intra-club competitions are played on Monday and Wednesday evenings. There is a Mixed Doubles Senior team in the Bayside Tennis Association, and a range of Junior teams in the Moorabbin and District Association on Saturday mornings, and in the Bayside Tennis Association on Sunday mornings. A ladies intra-club competition is played on Tuesday mornings.

The courts are not available for social tennis on Holy days such as Good Friday, Christmas Day, or Sunday mornings during church services. A monthly schedule for each court is available from the clubhouse or the St Andrew's Tennis Club website.
