Vicar's News - 12 December 2021

Christmas will be here shortly and we will be having the usual services on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. At this stage there will be no limit on the numbers attending, but everyone must be vaccinated or we are reduced to a maximum of 30 people.

Choral Evensong

This Sunday evening we will be having Choral Evensong at 6pm in the church. There will be no dinner afterwards, as previously planned, as the Marine Hotel are now going to be closed.

Join us for a service of Choral Evensong featuring the St Andrew's Choir using the service for Evensong from the Book of Common Prayer (BCP) 1662.

Be inspired by beautiful choral music

Ding dong! merrily on high (Wood) The little road to Bethlehem (Head)

Enjoy singing hymns

Of the Father’s heart begotten Silent night

Bassus et Dessus Trompette (Clérambault)

Jazz on Church

Tomorrow (Saturday) there will be jazz musicians in the newly erected marquee in the church grounds on the Church Street side from 11am till 2pm, courtesy of Bayside Council. The Jazz will return in January but will not be on 18 December as previously advertised due to the Farmer's Market.

Vale

On Monday we farewelled Beverley Dunn, a regular attendee at St Andrew's and an outstanding actor, singer and reader.

Of your charity, please pray for Lorraine Anne Jacka and Pauline Ann Fock who died recently. May they rest in peace and rise in glory.

New on Church Street

This week saw some new openings on Church Street, Our marquee and tables were put in place by Bayside Council on the Church Street boundary to facilitate those seeking some shade in summer and especially those with take away food.

And then on Friday, our new Coles Local opened in the Dendy Shopping Centre.

And Betty's Burgers, of Noosa fame, is opening this weekend.

Christmas Cakes

Fr Jan's Christmas cakes will be available for purchase after the services. Stock permitting, they may also be available at the next farmer's market, but they are selling fast and will likely sell out at the Farmer's Market next Saturday.
