Vicar's News - 25 September 2022

'The Rich Man and Lazarus' by Leandro Bassano -1557-1622

This weekend's gospel is the account of a very rich man who lived a life of extreme luxury. Laid outside the gate of this rich man’s house, however, was an extremely poor man named Lazarus who simply hoped “to eat what fell from the rich man’s table”. The rich man was completely indifferent to the plight of Lazarus, showing him no love, sympathy, or compassion whatsoever. Hear what happened and what we can learn from this at our services - Sat@6, Sunday 8am and 10am.

Wedding and Baptism

We celebrate the wedding of Chantelle and David on Saturday with a private service in the church.

At Sat@6 we welcome Helen Cong into God's church in the sacrament of Holy Baptism, in the Lady Chapel, with refreshments afterwards in the Pioneer Chapel.

Parish Annual Meeting

For your diary - our Annual Meeting this year will be on Sunday 20 November in the church following the 10am service.

Op Shop closed Wednesday

The Opportunity Shop will be closed on Wednesday 28 September due to an anticipated interruption to our electricity supply. The service will resume later in the day, but as the timing is unknown, the shop will be closed for the day.

At the same time, a temporary electrical supply will be commissioned from BGS to our church electrical board to supply electricity from 28 September until the new supply is available through the basement of the new building.
