Giovanni Girolamo Savoldo, Elijah Fed by the Raven, 1510

Pentecost 2

In this morning's Old Testament reading, Elijah seeks refuge in a cave on Mount Horeb after facing threats from Queen Jezebel. While in the cave, God speaks to him, not through a powerful display of nature, but through a "still, small voice". This encounter leads to Elijah receiving instructions to anoint new leaders and to understand that God is still present and working, despite the challenges Elijah faces.

Baptisms

This morning we welcomes three new members of the church of God through the sacrament of Holy Baptism - Anna, Howard and Eason. A beautiful cake was prepared by Lillian, Eason's mother. It was well-received by everyone!

Vale

This week we celebrate the lives of Graham Symon (Monday 2pm) and Peter Sholl (Thursday 11am) at funeral services in the church.

May they rest in peace and rise in glory.
