In this weekend's Gospel reading, Jesus prepares His disciples for the severe realities of following Him. He warns them to expect persecution, just as He faced opposition, but reassures them of God's sovereign protection, ultimate eternal reward, and the radical, life-altering commitment true discipleship requires.
