Parable of the Two Sons – Andreĭ Mironov (1975-)

In this parable, Jesus reproved those who considered themselves virtuous - who say the right things but who no not follow through in their actions and in their hearts.; whereas those they considered sinners, such as the tax collectors and prostitutes, were accepting the message of John the Baptist and repenting.

Special Parish General Meeting

Parish Council have resolved that our Parish Rules concerning the number of people on the Council should better match reality - rather than a possible 9 + 3 wardens, this should be reduced to 6 plus 3 wardens, which is one of the limited options permitted under the Parish Governance Act 2013.

A special meeting will be held at the end of the 10am service (11am) on Sunday 15 October to pass the necessary resolution so that the new rule is in place for our next Parish Annual Meeting on 26 November 2023.

The proposed resolution reads:

changing Parish Rule 10.1 from:

“10.1 (a) the vicar;

(b) 3 churchwardens; and

(c) 9 other persons, one-third nominated by the vicar and two-

thirds elected by the parishioners.”

to read:

“10.1 (a) the vicar;

(b) 3 churchwardens; and

(c) 6 other persons, one-third nominated by the vicar and two-

thirds elected by the parishioners.
