Epiphany 5

Sexagesima - 70 days to Easter

Henrik Olrik, Sermon on the Mount, 1860 (detail)

'Ten Wells' for young adults

A ten‑session ministry pathway for identity, belonging, and vocation

Young adults today are thirsty for depth, meaning, and a faith that speaks to real life.

The '10 Wells' program draws on the biblical image of wells as places of encounter, revelation, and renewal. Each “well” is a formation module that invites participants to drink deeply from a different dimension of Christian life — integrating Scripture, tradition, community, and personal reflection.

The program is designed for: • Young adults (18–35)

• Cross‑cultural parish settings

• Mixed levels of church familiarity

• A blend of teaching, discussion, and spiritual practice

Each session includes: • A theological anchor

• A pastoral theme

• A spiritual practice

• A measurable formation outcome

Archbishop visits St Andrew's

On Tuesday a special commencement service was held for the year 12 students of Firbank and Brighton Grammar Schools. The Sopecial guest was the new Archbishop of Melbourne, Ric Thorpe, (captured in a selfie) and who was celebrating his birthday so the congregation sang "Happy Birthday' to him. The Archbishop will formally visit us next year (he is so booked out already).
