It is with much pleasure that we announce that Christopher Roache has been appointed our Director of Music effective immediately.
Christopher Roache is a Melbourne based tenor and countertenor, working both as a choral director, classroom music teacher, freelance singer and singing teacher. Completing a Bachelor of Music with honours at The University of Melbourne in 2009, he has since spent two years singing in the UK, with one year as both an alto and tenor choral scholar at Wells Cathedral, as well as singing with a number of renowned choirs in London and Oxford.
Christopher performed as the tenor evangelist in the 2019 Organs of the Ballarat Goldfields Festival performance of Arvo Pärt's Passio. Late last year Christopher performed as the tenor soloist for the Australian Bach Society's performance of Bach's Four Lutheran Masses.
Christopher has featured in multiple concerts as a tenor soloist with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Christopher is also employed as the classroom music teacher, choral director and singing teacher for IB and Middle School at Sophia Mundi Steiner School, Abbotsford.
Chris’ vision is to foster and promote a love of music in the community, through the direction and tutelage of singing, musicality and performance and we are very excited to have him join us here at St Andrew’s.
