CHILDREN'S CHURCH

• Children's Church is our 'Sunday School' program that is conducted separately but at the same time as our actual church service.
• Why? The idea behind Children's Church is for St Andrew's to be a family-oriented church where children are catered for and feel part of the wider church community.
• Who? the program caters for pre-school and primary school aged children. Our dedicated teachers use fun and creative learning techniques and resources that are appealing to children of all ages.
• What happens? Learning programs are conducted as a series of activities, where children are involved in such things as craft, listening to bible stories and learning to pray.
• Where? The children meet in the old Pioneer Chapel at the beginning of the church service and then move with their teachers into the main body of the church for their activities. Afterwards they return to the Chapel to be reunited with their families for celebration of Communion.
• When? We meet at 9.00 am on Sundays during term time.

Our mission is to "receive, nurture and treasure each child as a gift from God" and to "proclaim the Gospel to children in ways that empower them to receive and respond to God's love."

Above all, St Andrew's aims to nurture "nurture and support families in caring for their children, acting in their children's best interests, and recognising and fostering their children's spirituality and unique gifts," (Anglican Church of Australia).
